Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

Welcome to CaveForCommonwealth.com.  We hope you enjoy your visit.  We know your right to privacy online is important. You do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information unless you choose to give us your personal information.  This privacy policy has been created to answer any questions you may have regarding the our data collection and protection policies.  We reserve the right to change this Policy.

What information is being collected at CaveForCommonwealth.com?

The only personal information collected is information you give us: We may at times ask you to submit information – such as your name and email address for our online email subscription.   If you choose not to give us any information, we may not be able to provide you with the most timely information pertaining to: events, personal appearances, and other related information.

Information collected when you donate:  Nothing on the website, itself.  We use Stripe and Donorbox, which have a partnership for political donations, and complies with FEC regulations and reporting requirements.  Its secure, reliable and fully integrated.  The Donorbox donation form looks like its embedded on the website to create a seamless user experience.

Donorbox is PCI compliant under `PCI validation: SAQ A`, Donorbox utilizes Stripe Elements technology which has financial input fields that are managed securely in Stripe`s iframe.  Stripe is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

The transmission between the donors, the Donorbox form, and Stripe is encrypted using 256bit SSL/TLS. Card numbers are tokenized (the number is changed to an undecipherable string, IE: `tok_fafds23423`) before we charge the card.  Saved cards and bank accounts for recurring donations are also tokenized.  Therefore, Donorbox does not have any record of the donor`s card number in its database or logs, and hackers will never obtain sensitive card or bank information from either Donorbox or Stripe.

You can donate using a credit or debit card.  We incur a small processing fee for each donation and ask the donor to add those processing fees to their donation to offset our cost.  It is completely optional, but much appreciated.  We can enable recurring donations, if a donor requests it.  Recurring donations require you to create an account with Donorbox, so that your card can be debited on the interval you choose.

When you make a contribution, federal and state law requires us to obtain the following information: name, address, employer, occupation, employer location and amount of contribution.  Federal law requires us to report this information to the FEC if an individual’s contribution or contributions aggregate is in excess of $200 in a single calendar year.

Contributions from corporations, government contractors, and foreign nationals without a `green card` are prohibited.  $2,900 per person for a given candidate per election cycle is the maximum contribution allowed by law for the 2021-2022 election cycles.  Click HERE for details on the FEC website.
